Workshop hosted by New England Center for Circus Arts

This workshop is a 5 day overview to the art of teaching trapeze and aerial fabric, with a focus on spotting techniques, injury prevention, psychology of teaching, basic rigging concepts and class management. This in depth and holistic approach to teaching is appropriate for new teachers and those with experience, and for those who work with youth or adults in a variety of educational environments including circus schools, gymnastics programs, summer camps, fitness studios and more.

First offered in 2002, this Nimble Arts teacher training was one of the first in the United States.  Elsie and Serenity have over 65 years combined experience teaching circus skills to learners age 1 ½ to 102 yrs, and have a passion for the technical, practical and psychological nuances of coaching aerial arts to all bodies.  They have certifications in a number of circus areas including trampoline and german wheel, and are the recipients of the American Circus Educators Award for Excellence in Education.

Prerequisites: All students are expected to prepare by successfully completing the elements in the required Nimble Arts™ DVD: Aerial Fabric: Beginning Level 1 prior to the start of the workshop.  (Available at our Shop) Trapeze experience is not necessary but it will make your journey easier.
